Her career connects the discipline of financial services with a deep commitment to expanding opportunity. From strengthening compliance programs to helping community organizations build capacity, Daryl brings a practical, people-centered approach to complex challenges.

Experience That Connects Strategy with Action

Daryl’s background spans banks, credit unions, government-sponsored enterprises, and advisory firms. She has held leadership and consulting roles across lending, operations, consumer complaints, compliance, risk, and internal audit, including experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FIS, and USF Federal Credit Union.

Her work includes developing and improving Compliance Management Systems; leading audit and regulatory examination activities; strengthening policies, procedures, and controls; and guiding corrective action through remediation. She also brings experience in fair lending, community reinvestment, consumer protection, and BSA/AML compliance.

An effective communicator and collaborative leader, Daryl translates complex requirements into practical direction for executives, boards, operational teams, and external examiners and auditors. Her approach emphasizes clear accountability, sound judgment, and solutions organizations can sustain.

A Foundation in Community Development

Daryl’s commitment to organizational growth began alongside her work in housing, economic development, and access to financial services. Earlier in her career, she helped develop community lending programs and expand outreach through roles with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Fifth Third Bank, and Huntington National Bank.

As an independent development consultant, she supported community organizations and minority-owned businesses through resource and policy development, public relations, community engagement, and business development. She also served as Interim Director for Neighborhood Housing Services of America and contributed to boards and initiatives focused on affordable housing, homeownership preservation, fair lending, and neighborhood revitalization.

During the 2008 housing market crash, Daryl worked with American Homeownership Preservation, assisting homeowners facing financial hardship in their efforts to remain in their homes. This work reinforced her commitment to housing stability, responsible lending, and preserving the wealth and security that homeownership can provide.

These experiences continue to shape Leanas Development’s work with financial institutions, nonprofits, and businesses—connecting strong governance and operational discipline with the missions and people they serve.

Leadership Beyond the Business

Service remains central to Daryl’s life and leadership. She serves as a Board Advisory Member of the Central Florida Compliance Association and is an active member of the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America.

Her community involvement spans children’s cancer support, arts, fashion, entertainment, and youth sports. She serves on the “I’m In” Development Committee supporting BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation and the Development and Event Committee for Orlando International Fashion Week. Through Fierce Entertainment Management Company, she supports sponsorship development, event production, and setup. She also contributes as a Strategic Advisor, Board Member, and development volunteer with Infinite Sports Elite, supporting sponsorships and event planning.

Across these efforts, Daryl is motivated by a shared purpose: helping people access opportunities, strengthen their communities, and build lasting legacies.

The Purpose Behind Leanas

Leanas Development reflects Daryl’s belief that meaningful transformation begins with understanding where an organization stands and helping it move forward with intention.

Her philosophy—Be Like Water. The Butterfly Effect. Move with Purpose.—embraces adaptability, the ripple effect of thoughtful decisions, and the discipline to turn vision into action.

Whether strengthening a compliance framework, supporting a nonprofit’s growth, or helping a business navigate change, Daryl brings strategic perspective, practical guidance, and a commitment to the people behind the mission.
